For Your Benefit
0
Every issue of the Visual Arts Journal includes a list of the benefits currently available to all SVA alumni. These benefits are developed and evolve out of input we receive from alumni about what they value most. And as needs change, the Office of Alumni Affairs responds by continually adding new benefits and refining existing ones.

One of the benefits that our alumni tell us they value is the College’s online job board. Last year, in response to alumni feedback, we extended access to the online job board to all alumni for an unlimited time (theretofore it was available only to alumni who had graduated within the previous eight years). The online job board allows alumni to look for or post a job targeted specifically to students and graduates of SVA.

There are several other benefits that SVA graduates have told us are important to them. Every year, hundreds of alumni take advantage of the continuing education course discount, which provides $50 off registration for all CE courses. And we get consistent enthusiastic feedback on our free weekly model drawing sessions. Also, in response to requests from alumni, last year we expanded our health care insurance benefit from one to 47 states, which has been especially popular among our many self-employed alumni.

For a current list of all alumni benefits see page 70 of this issue, or go to sva.edu/alumni and click on “benefits.” Note that you must present your SVA alumni ID card or ID number in order to receive/access benefits. We hope that you will take advantage of these benefits and we welcome your input. Please send comments to [email protected] or call 212.592.2300. [Carrie Lincourt]
